Today’s “Spotlight Company” House of Minerva, LLC. I have had the chance to get to know more about House of Minerva and Kate Elfatah, Owner and Designer and I am excited to share more information with you our readers.
1. Tell us a little bit about you and the background of your company:
House of Minerva, Encouraging women and Children to Show Their True Colors.
House of Minerva is an independent design house catering to women and children wares and accessories. Designer/Owner, Kate Elfatah has taken her artistic ability to craft quality and trendy women’s and children’s apparel and accessories.
Kate began designing and sewing cosmetic bags for friends a few years ago, the demand was so high she started creating totes and handbags to compliment her collections. Kate’s background and education in both fashion design and art history makes her thrive in this business.
As her designing began to flourish, Kate had to make sacrifices and juggled home life with an all-consuming full time job. As a single mother, Kate worked in the corporate world for many years but knew if given the opportunity she could combine her savvy business expertise with her talent for sewing and crafting unique pieces for women and children.
Kate’s husband encouraged and helped her make the bold decision to leave the corporate world to pursue her dream of becoming a Designer and local business owner. Kate has now begun a new journey, with her own design label, House of Minerva. House of Minerva has become a favorite at Luxury Celebrity Gifting Suites in Hollywood. Kate continues to work with many celebrities and PR firms with getting her brand national exposure. You can see many of the celebrities that love House of Minerva on her Facebook Page.
Her line of handbags and women and children’s apparel are designed with classic yet fun patterns, utilizing retro fabrics with a few new twists on standard apparel.
House of Minerva is a one woman show. Kate designs and sews each piece by hand, with a keen eye for detail and functionality. This is only the beginning for this creative and inspiring woman.
2. How are you able to assist small to moderate businesses?
House of Minerva loves working with other small business, either on events where we can assist in charities or even in assisting with alteration needs and custom work.
3. Give the one value added thing that your company brings to the small business community.
We are committed to staying a small independent design house locally handmade here in the Lehigh Valley. Look for us to open a small manufacturing and distribution center in the next year. We’ll be looking for seamstresses and cutters along with other job opportunities. We are really excited about this next step.
